In this video I am using laminating poly resin, 1.5 oz csm and 1708 bi-axial glass. In order to ensure a good bond onto the plywood it is essential to pre-coat the surface with resin! Not doing so will almost certainly result in a dry layup and de-lamination 🙁 Not good… In total, I used 12oz of resin to pre-coat the surface and layup all the glass shown in the demo. The fin roller I used to establish the radius on the fillet is 1/2″…

The last video of this series! Here I cover a great product from Pettit Paint! Their barrier coat system called Pettit Protect. An easy to use protective system that helps prevent the formation of blisters in the fiberglass. You can find more information on this product HERE… This system is mixed 3:1 (3 parts base to 1 part catalyst) and if needed can be thinned up to 10% overall volume with Pettit 97 Epoxy Thinner to help with rolling the material out a bit smoother….
